The heart of this kit is a rugged, positive displacement, gear pump.  Self priming, this pump can handle oils with a wide range of viscosity. With a large motor , this pump can run for extended periods of time without excessive heat build up.   Included is a clear suction hose, so that you can monitor the oil quality as you are pumping.
